Who I Am
Hello and welcome to Saving Grace Design.
My name is Karen Dixon and I have loved creating, decorating, designing, arranging, and dreaming since I was a little girl changing my bedroom around multiple times in a month’s timeframe. My mom, who mastered the art of hospitality in our home, inspired me as I watched her prepare our home for guests. Because of her influence, I love beautiful and organized spaces.
With this as my foundation, I went on to graduate from Kansas State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Home Economics and Mass Communications. Along the way, I started my own family and strove to create the type of home environment I grew up experiencing. As I continued on my journey and explored different ventures, guests who visited our home throughout the years have had a common reaction, "you have such a beautiful home! I want you to help me with mine.” This has led to me volunteering my time to create and design for family, church and work events. There has never been a dull moment!
In 2014, another pivotal moment came when a friend moved into a brand new home, to me a “blank canvass,” and asked me to design as their budget allowed. From that one job, I kept going and was asked to design a look for the stage used by my Church. I then successfully became a Certified Interior Designer. This certification gave me the confidence and skills needed to fuel my dream of designing rooms for every day families who desire the skill set of an Interior Designer.
These experiences have fed my passion for not only decorating, but helping to design for special events such as weddings, birthday parties, seminars, retreats etc. My heart and passion now is to design a room (or rooms) for YOU, the place that you’ve always wanted but have assumed is too pricey. Let's get started today!
